Spring Coordinating Tips for Gals! (part 1)

So FINALLY I can post the first part of the post I've been working on every day (!) for a week!

Spring Coordinating Tips for Gals!

I'm gonna do 2 in every post cause it's LONG and I think there will be 3 parts but I'm not 100% sure yet lol
Feel free to ask anything and as I already suggested before you gals are always welcome to send me a message if you need help in coordinating or if you need inspo\reference pics for something you wanna wear^^

Another thing I wanna point out is that this series is not like about trend but just a collection of tips for easy coordinating for this time of year (weather wise) and mostly about everyday outfits and how to make them more gyaru~
So! let's begin with the first tip!

1. Maxi

Well the first thing I'm gonna talk about is maxi length skirts and dresses! Since this is one of my favorite shapes of clothes:D It's both comfortable and cute (& cool too!) and it's good for spring cause it's not too much skin out and it allow you to stay weather appropriate while you wear no sleeves:D

Of course it can look really cute with a thin outer like a plaid skirt or something like that:
 (Gugu)
I really love the combination between the white lacy dress and the kakkoii plaid shirt!

The more common look with this kind of dresses are denim shirts which I sure will talk about next!

(Emihamu)

Plaid maxi, Love it! Looks really cute layered on a plain T shirt and a puffy denim vest on top~
 (Suzu)

One of my personal favorites are what called in Japanese "Taito suka-to" (Tight skirts)~ They are usually made of denim and they come in medium to long length~ I think they look really cool and they suit oldschool style a lot! If you remember, Aya from GALS! used to wear them a lot:D
(Cecil McBEE photoshoot)

(Betty's Blue)

Pattern skirts with a cute T is also a very cute look! add a hat and you're set!
(Emihamu)

(Minyatocchi)

This looks usually very Amekaji, especially if you go for layered skirts, but you can make a cute onee outfit out of a maxi skirt and a T as well!

Or even sweet style!
(Minyatocchi)

Check out how she made completely different looks with the same bock white skirt!  I live for this tbh
In the second pic you can see it's actually a dress, Which is anther good tip to remember!

ANOTHER style of maxi is the T-dress! It's like a Tshirt but it's a dressXD

(Kumicky)

If you're brave enough, wear it with UGGs XD

(Ikemegu)

But my personal favorite is this outfit from an old issue of Egg:

The shirt on top, the SHOES!!!!! and the fancy bag as well
this outfit is GOALS

2. Button Up!

This one is a basic tip~ Turns out, Almost every outfit in every style looks good with buttoned shirt XD There are many ways you can wear it so you can play with styling it and the reason it's good for spring is because it's long sleeved but thin enough, So if in summer you wanna wear 1 layer and hope you won't die, in spring sometimes you need another layer that can come off easily.
So the first style I'm gonna talk about is of course the denim buttoned shirt
(Akaharu)

It's cute, It's cool, And it goes with 99% of gal outfits.

JK, but it looks good with A LOT of cute everyday outfits and it's also a good way to make an outfit more casual.
for example:

For those of you who has fancy dresses like himekaji or even onee, and you don't get many chances to wear them cause they're too fancy, Throwing a denim shirt on top (open\tied half way) can make a cute everyday outfit.

Of course you can also wear it properly with a cute skirt

Now to the next style we all loVE...
Plaid!

We all have at least 1~2 of them in our closet and they can look super gal if you do it right.

She's using a longer shirt and shorts so basically the plaid is very present, But she's using gal accessories like the belt and the hat and those cute necklaces
(Chimpan)

Or here, Just the basic plaid shirt and jeans, Nut toy can add a belt, cute shies, hat, accessories, whatever you want to give it a gal look.

I feel that sometimes the line between a plain outfit and a gal outfit is the overload of accessories.

Here is another example of a plain outfit with a twist. Tsu chan is definitely my all times favorite inspiration for everyday gyaru.

Well it's true, Plaid shirts X denim bottom is the best combo.

But it doesn't have to be just the obvious blue denim. Try playing with colors~ The more colorful the shirt is, The more options you have to coord it.

(Minyatocchi)

You can wear it of course on top of a tshirt or a sleeveless top, But why not trying to wear it under a tshirt?

(Kawabata Kanako)                                             (Kumicky)

The buttoned shirt doesn't have to be on top of an outfit as I said, Here are 2 more examples:

(Yumachi)

One more option is a plaid buttoned shirt.
I'm talking about those buttoned shirts we wear under our seifuku cardigan XD Of course you can choose any shape you like, But I like them boyish and a bit oversize

The coolest gal Tsu chan
(Tsubasa)

Try adding accessories like ties or colorful button pins

(Suzu)

You can also just tie it half way up

And if you like this style, d.i.a and Garula has some cute shirts like that with more interesting buttons that really fill in the need in accessories for those kind of outfits.
(Yumachi)

Annnnnd to the last bit, Just 70s style patterned shirts!
Stripes, paisley, saike etc
Every pattern there is! I think this is currently my favorite.
Btw, Girl on the middle left looks familiar?
Bet you she was the reference to this:

You're welcome
(I do admit I'm pretty good at finding the references Mihona Fuji used for many of the things in Gals!)

More examples:

I really need to get me more in this style before it's too hot to wear them.

So those that's it for today's post^^ I'll be really happy to hear what you think and I'll be posting the second part probably tomorrow!
Thank you for reading and hope you found this helpful!
Have a lovely lovely day,

Georgie
